The Story
Highland Single Malt Scotch WhiskyÂ
Bottled by: Gordon & MacPhail 70cl / 43%
A delightful relic: this Ardmore 1990 was bottled in 2004 by Gordon & MacPhail for what is now known as the Distillery Labels series of licensed bottlings. These G&M editions were vital for fans of distilleries like Ardmore, whose owners at the time were the notoriously useless Allied Distillers, who couldn't be bothered to do any official bottlings themselves.
Thankfully Ardmore was bought by Jim Beam Brands in 2005 and has gone from strength to strength ever since, but this is a fascinating memento from the era when G&M's licensed bottlings were the de facto official releases.
