Batch 12 of Glendronach Cask Strength was released in summer 2023 and remains one of the great entry-level cask strength sherried official bottlings of Highland single malt whisky.

This hugely popular dram made its first appearance back in 2012 and remains a top class combination of Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks bottled without colouring or chill filtration at its natural cask strength, which in this case came out at a hefty 58.2%.

Tasting Notes

Appearance: Deep bronze.

Nose: Rich mocha and creamy cappuccino meld with orange and raisin-filled fruit cake, cherry liqueur and sandalwood.

Palate: A voluptuous swathe of velvety spice reveals dark chocolate tiramisu topped with flamed Seville orange peel, toasted almond and crystalised ginger.

Finish: The lingering finale of amaretto-laced mocha, morello cherry and sultana on indulgent caramelised creme brulee.
