Another lovely looking 1983 Port Ellen by DL. The spirit during these last years of production at the distillery was dry, kippery, wild and full of aromas of coal dust, soot, pepper, green peat, often a dirty earthiness and big sharp citrus characteristics. These early 80s bottlings by DL are very much the benchmark expressions of this style.
